Jumper

A few weeks/months (I forget how long ago), I watched the movie "Jumper" on DVD. The concept was the main character can "jump' to any place in the world as long as he's seen the place before (either having physically been there, or have seen a picture of it). This is one "ability" I wouldn't mind having because I like travelling, but I don't enjoy the process of getting to that place or going home. That is, I don't enjoy the packing, going to the airport, going through airport security, flying to the place and then do it all over again before getting home.

It would be very wonderful if I could jump to Maui for example for a few hours after work, and jump home again in time to go back to work again. :) I can dream....

So I still haven't gotten around to getting my a/c fixed. I guess I should get that done soon or else I will continue to melt whenever there's a heat wave.
June is almost over, half a year has gone by. This year has been crazily busy for me at work so far. I finally felt that the pace has gone back to normal just the past couple of weeks. So I'm going to try to enjoy the "down" time as much as possible. Next week I'm only working 2 days, so that is great. :)

Heat Wave

We're going through a 4 day heat wave, Friday to Monday. Of course, my air-conditioner is not working properly during this time, and I don't have time to get someone to come and fix it. Work has been totally crazy and I haven't been able to start enjoying our summmer hours program, even though with the overtime I've worked during the past few months, I probably could have taken a few more Fridays off. Anyway, I think I can start to enjoy my summer hours next week, and I'll definitely have to schedule someone to come in and fix the air-conditioner since it's going to be a really hot summer.

Wow, the last time I blogged was more than a month and a half ago and Torontonians were all digging out during and after a huge snow storm. Today is a nice unusually warm Spring day. We've had nice sunny and warmer than average days the past couple of weeks. It was so nice after the cold and snowy winter. A few days I even turned on my air-conditioning in the house because it got so warm. :)

Anyway, not much is new with me except my sister gave birth to my new niece, Abigail Hope, a few weeks ago. I can only see the pictures posted on their blog so far, but my parents tell me that Abigail looks just like me when I was a month old. I guess I'll take their word for it. :)

I've decided to be totally lazy this Saturday. TTC, the Toronto public transit system went on strike at midnight last night without any warning. Everyone thought it was over with and they reached a deal. I was totally surprised when I woke up and saw the news. I thought it was a error in the system, and they published news from a few years ago. :) I have some stuff I can say, but I'm going to refrain. I just hope the strike is over before the work week starts again. As it is, it's creating havoc for people who normally takes the TTC downtown for the Raptors, Jays or other sporting events. There's a Raptors NBA play off game, and a Toronto FC (soccer) game today. It's going to be crazy for people trying to get down there.

I'm exhausted. Shovelled 3 times. The 3rd time had most snow, prob around 6 to 7 inches. I had nowhere left to put the snow, so I pushed it out to the back laneway where we access our garages. Feeling very bad about it, but my neighbour 2 houses over kept telling me it's okay and even told me not to push the snow to the opposite side, he said no use clearing the laneway for my little piece coz everywhere else is pretty much blocked. Well I hope no one needs to drive through the laneway until the plows come and take the snow away!

It's March already and we are going through the 2nd snow storm in the week. The first part of this 2nd snow storm has happened, the 2nd part which is the nasty one is coming this afternoon. I do not look forward to that. First I have to go out and shovel the snow from the 1st part. Not even sure where I can put the snow. Then I guess throughout the afternoon I will be shovelling.

And we also lose an hour this weekend, and I have work to do. What an exciting weekend!

Flight delays seem to like me. I'm waiting at the Atlanta airport right now as our flight has been delayed for 1 hour. I hope it's just 1 hour and not more. :)

Georgia Aquarium & Coca Cola World

Today we went to the Georgia Aquarium and Coca Cola World. The Georgia Aquarium is the place that my dad really wanted to visit, and he got his wish today! I have to say that the aquarium is pretty cool. Especially the Ocean Explorer exhibit. It is one giant fish tank with whale sharks and all sorts of fishes! Huge fish too. After lunch, my dad spend some more time looking at the different exhibits while my mom and I walked across to Coca Cola World. It's pretty neat too, but not as good as the aquarium. We got to see some history, and looked at some pop art, and also the machines involved in making and bottling cokes. The neatest part is tasting all different flavours of Coca Cola products from all over the World. There were over 60 flavours. I only tasted 6 or 7 I think. We also got a bottle of free coke to go. Then we have to go through the gift store and I bought a bunch of stuff. :)
So tomorow we leave Atlanta and go back to freezing cold Toronto. I'm glad to go home, but sorry to miss the warm sunshine of the South.

I have arrived in Atlanta! The drive wasn't too bad. We end up stopping 3 times. The first time was about an hour after we left Orlando because I badly needed a washroom break. :) The 2nd time was for lunch and then the 3rd time was for gas and washroom break. I think in total it took us about 7 hours (including the stops). We started at 9:30 am and arrived at our hotel in Atlanta at 4:30 pm.

Tomorrow, we'll be visiting the Georgia Aquarium and hopefully I can visit Coca Cola World as well. Then Wednesday is our flight home to Toronto! I can't beleive the vacation is almost over and I was able to drive from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando and then from Orlando to Atlanta!

We went to Sea World today. Saw two of the shows - Blue Horizons and Believe. Both were great. Blue Horizons had dolphins and whales and birds and divers and acrobats. Believe had Shamu and two other killer whales. One of which is probably still a baby.

Got back to the hotel early afternoon and we all vegged out. I think I'm ready to go home, but still have to drive up to Atlanta tomorrow.

Back on dry land

I'm back on dry land! Although sometimes I feel like I'm still on the ship because when I sit down or when I was in the shower, I still feel the rocking motion of being on the ship. :)

Right now I'm in Orlando. We disembark from the ship this morning without incident. After renting an SUV from the airport, I drove us all up to Orlando without any incidents as well. My mom and I then went shopping while my dad stayed in the hotel room to relax.

Mom and I bought lots of clothes for my soon to arrive little niece (my sister is due in a month or so). And a few items for my nephew Isaac. We bought some clothes for ourselves as wel!

Then we went grocery shopping and bought some Chinese takeout. The rest of the evening is just resting and relaxing in the hotel room. It's nice to been on dry land again!

Day 5 - Cozumel, Mexico

I guess I skipped from Day 1 to Day 4. :) Well, internet connection was on and off. So the past few days, I've been to Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and today we were at Cozumel, Mexico. Highlights so far is swimming with stingrays at Stingray City in Grand Cayman. I even kissed one! The stingrays are really friendly, they swim right up to you and brush up to you. Kinda scary at first, but after a while, you get use to it. The bottom of the stingray is very silky and smooth.

Today was cool too. I didn't actually go to Cozumel. We took a ferry to the mainland straight from the ship. Then we went on a tour to visit Tulum, Mayan ruins. I thought it was beautiful there. My parents didn't enjoy it as much.

Well, so much for now. I'm at sea again now. Heading to Princess Cays, Bahamas. Then it's back to Fort Lauderdale. Then comes our mini road trip up to Atlanta with a stopover in Orlando. Since I'm doing all the driving, please pray that I will drive safely. :)

Cruising Day 1

Just a quick update. Everything was pretty smooth checking in and boarding the ship. It was so fast, I think it may have just taken 10 mins to go through everything. We had lunch on board the ship then just walked around a little bit and took a nap because we had so little sleep last night. Then we had the mandatory drill where we take our life jackets and learn about what to do in case of emergency. After that, it was unpacking as our luggage arrived. Then we rested a bit more and had out to dinner. Dinner was pretty yummy except dessert was just okay. I had a medley of fruits to start, porcini mushroom soup, and rockfish. Dessert was a dark chocolate volcano pudding cake. But it was kinda dry.
After dinner we looked at the boutiques, then went to see the show. It was mainly an introduction of the ship's singers and dancers and other cruise recreation peeps. Then there was a stand-up comedy show. The guy was pretty funny, except my parents didn't understand it so they were kinda bored. :)
Now my parents are sleeping, and I'm in the internet cafe since I don't want to sleep just yet.
Tomorrow is at sea. So I'm just gonna explore the ship and go to a spa thingy and a wine tasting/seminar thingy.

Bleary eyed in Fort Lauderdale

We made it to Fort Lauderdale after a 3 hour delay 1.5 hours waiting at the gate, another 1.5 hours on the plane waiting for the plane to be de-iced. Which means arriving in Fort Lauderdale at 3:25 am instead of 12:10 am. By the time we got to the hotel, it was around 4 am. Then I couldn't really fall asleep, so now I'm plain tired and bleary eyed.

We are boarding the ship early afternoon. I am a bit confused about the shuttle to Port Everglades from the hotel, but I'm not going to stress over it now. Just gonna try to get on the Princess Cruises arranged shuttle. If they don't let me, I'll get a cab. :)

So far the vacation has been a wee bit stressful. I'm hopeful that it's gonna be good from now on.

I'm flying to Fort Lauderdale to night with my parents for our cruise vacation that's leaving tomorrow. There is a big snowstorm happening in Toronto right now. So far, the flight status is still on time. And since the flight doesn't leave until 9 pm, I'm hoping that it will remain on time. :)

It's weather like this that makes me look forward to the sun and sea that I will be encountering during my vacation ever so much more.

The snow is coming down fast and heavy. Started around 8 am and hasn't stopped. I've gone out and did the 1st round of shovelling, about 1 ft of snow probably, and my driveway already looks pretty covered again. Because of the strong winds, there were snow dunes on my driveway, so some parts were thigh level!

Anyway, although it was painful shovelling all that snow, my neighbours came out to shovel their driveways halfway through, so it was cool to have the company and we were chatting back and forth. :)

Well, I'm gonna try to recover now so that I can go out and shovel more later this afternoon.

Can't believe it's already December 1st! I actually basically finished my Christmas shopping already, except for a few more things for some of my co-workers. :)

So it's pretty quite cold the past few days and apparently this winter is going to be the coldest and snowiest in 15 years. I'm so glad I got winter tires. And I'll just be like a hermit this winter.

So October flew by, and we're now in November. I have a feeling that November is going to fly by quite fast as well since we're only a few days away to mid Nov! This month started out to be super busy, and looks like it's gonna continue to be busy for me.
I'm looking forward to the time off I'm taking between Christmas and New Year's to recover from this craziness at work.

The other day, I was driving back from downtown after a overnight off-site meeting during rush hour. Took me two hours! I felt so car sick. It's amazing how different the DVP/404 is during rush hour vs non-rush hour. Took me may be 20 to 25 mins to get to the same place the day before when I drove down during non-rush hour time. So driving back up during rush hour took me almost 6 times longer. Yuck!

So weather is getting colder. I'm going to get winter tires soon for my new car. Hopefully, this winter I can drive without fear of sliding in the snow/ice. And watch this winter being snowless because I've gotten winter tires.

Wow 2 weeks have passed since I last blogged.

During these 2 weeks I had a 4 day weekend because I took the Friday before Thanksgiving longweekend off. Then this past week I was in Muskoka for most of the week on an off-site business meeting.

The first part of October was unusually warm, then now the temperature has cooled down quite a bit.

Honestly, I don't think I will be updating this blog too regularly now since there isn't really much to update on. :)

Why is it that every time Saturday gets here, I get so lazy? It's a beautiful day out, but I haven't gone outside of my house yet at all. I feel so very lazy and lethargic and just want to veg around. :)
Now it's 6:10 pm and most of Saturday has passed by. I think that's why the weekend always feel like it goes by fast, because I don't do anything on Saturday and just waste it by being lazy and lethargic.
Although, after working hard all week, sometimes I don't think there's anything wrong of just being lazy on Saturday and not feel guilty about it. :)

I spent the last two nights staying in a hotel downtown because our company is having a huge meeting. Even though the Toronto International Film Festival is happening right now, I didn't run into any celebrities.

The meeting was great and fun, but I'm very glad to be home and sleeping in my own bed tonight. :)

I think my cold is getting better. I definitely feel much better than I did last Thursday, however, there seems to still be a lingering "stuffed-up"ness and a dry cough here and there. This is the last day of my 4 day weekend, and the end of the Summer hours. It's back to regular working time starting tomorrow. I'm a bit sad that I spent most of the last long weekend of the Summer feeling sick. No use being sad about something I can't really help I guess. :)
So as you can tell from my last post, I bought Guitar Hero for PS2 yesterday, and the guitar controller. It is such a fun game. I really love it! Makes me feel like I'm actually rocking out on the electric guitar. Ke ke ke... And yes, I also own a Wii which I bought about a month ago. Can't wait for Guitar Hero 3 for Wii. It's coming out end of October, and I'm getting myself a bday gift!

I've come down with a cold. Started yesterday morning. I thought it was allergies at first, but as the day progressed, I realized it was a cold. Anyway, feeling a bit bad at work because of the cold. Then as I was leaving work, waiting to turn left from a side street to a main street, the guy behind me got really mad at me for taking so long to turn and honked at me and was yelling at me in his car. I kinda got really mad and did something bad. Something I've never done. Now thinking back, I regret losing my temper and losing control. But I'm still mad at the man for honking at me. I mean, yes I may be taking a long time and not being agressive enough, but what if I was agressive and turned and got into accident, is this stupid man behind me gonna feel bad for me and pay for my damages???? NO!! So stop honking at me.

I've returned from my very short trip to Washington D.C.! It just flew by. It was nice spending the short time with my nephew Isaac, since he wasn't afraid of me. Though when he's tired and cranky, he prefers his mom. :) He's so cute and really active when he's not tired.
I also got to visit the International Spy Museum, pretty cool place, too many people though. I think next time I would visit Washington D.C. in the fall or spring time. Summer is very hot, and can be quite crowded.
I like Washington D.C., it's a very beautiful place.

After work today, I went to Loblaws to pick up a few items. When I've found everything I needed, I found myself wandering around Loblaws and not wanting to go home. So weird, not sure why.

I'm quite excited that I will be seeing my nephew and sister and brother-in-law in a few days. I'm also dreading the pre and post - packing, flying, unpacking. I think as I get older, I find that I'm liking travelling by myself more and more. At least it is a short haul flight this time.

This week went by quite quickly because it was a short week. The weather this Summer has been pretty cool. Makes me want to go to a beach and I mean a beach by the ocean not the lake. I've always loved the feeling of coming back from the ocean and taking a shower. I would feel so nice and clean after from the sand, with a faint feeling left from being sun and sea kissed. It is a very cosy feeling.

Wow, 3 of my 4 day weekend has flown by. 4 day weekend because I got Friday off for summer hours, and Monday is a holiday in Ontario!

The weather was great, did some cool stuff. Friday was a mostly grumpy day because of some small stuff - mainly with a bank machine and UPS (yes, UPS was the only courier that I wasn't unhappy with before, but now they have one black mark against them). Other than that, the weekend has been pretty cool. :)

Tomorrow, I plan to just sleep in and play with my new purchases.

17 more days and I get to see my baby nephew and my sister and brother-in-law. Last time I saw my nephew, he was still a tiny baby. Now he's very active and moving around lots and starting to make lots of sounds as well. Can't wait!

I woke up this morning at 5:30 and panicked because I thought it was Monday morning already and I had forgotten to leave out the NIM cooler bag and forgotten to leave the storm door unlocked so the NIM guy can leave the new bag. I was ready to run down to see if the guy left the stuff outside the door, then I realized it was only Sunday morning. Breathing a sigh of relief, I went back to sleep until my alarm went off at 7:45 am. :)

This week felt long for some reason, but it's Thursday now, so getting closer to the end of the week.

Another truck rollover this morning, third in the week. This time it's on the 410, not the 401.

Yesterday as I was leaving work and walking towards my car, I noticed that including my car, there were 5 Mazdas parked in a row. Wasn't sure if the drivers of the other Mazdas parked in a row intentionally (I was the first car parked there and I know one of drivers parked beside me intentionally because we have the same model and we joked about doing that). I got a chuckle when I saw the five Mazdas.

Only a few more days left in July and then it's August. The Summer is just chugging along. I still haven't done anything really fun and summery. I think the Summer is going to fly by again without me doing anything summery.

I guess I haven't had a lot of stuff to post about lately. :) Anyway, it's a rainy day today, kinda gloomy, but it's okay coz we do need the rain.

I'm gonna go on a cruise with my parents again. We'll be going on a Western Caribbean cruise next Feb. I'm pretty excited about that! We'll also be driving to Atlanta via Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale after the cruise because my dad really wants to go to the Georgia Aquarium. It's more than 6 months away though.

Wow, can't believe a week has gone by already. So fast! Today is 070707 :). I heard on the radio that a lot of people consider this to be a lucky day to get married or something. I bet all the restuarants, hotels, ballrooms, wedding planners etc made that up to get more wedding business.

It was a nice short week for me because of the holiday on Monday and summer hours off on Friday. The days off seems to go by so fast though, even when I'm not really doing much. I think this Summer is going to fly by again, I really should do something fun this Summer before it goes by and it's back to the long and dreary winter.

Last night I had a dream that my new car was scratched on both sides by people parking crazily beside me. I was yelling at this driver at one car trying to get him to pay me $1000 for the damage, running after him everywhere and all he would give me was spare change. It was a very emotional dream. I was glad to wake up and find that it was only a dream.

It's Canada Day weekend! So we get Monday off. Not sure what I will be doing though...

It's done! The transfer of ownership went very smoothly. The MTO office we went to was very efficient, I think I'm gonna go back there next time I have to renew anything. It's the fastest one I've been to, and the people there were nice too.

In another hour or so, I will be saying goodbye to my current car! Then I'm gonna be carless for the weekend. I'll get to drive my mom's car to work on Monday and Tuesday, and then after work on Tuesday I'll get my new car!!! Yay!

After I posted last night about having to wait probably another week for my new car, I got a call from the dealership this morning that I can get my car next Tuesday. I asked if I could pick up the new car on Friday instead, but they didn't like that. :)
So of course, now I have to go after work to get the car. A bit rushed.. but oh well. Good timing does not seem to happen to me too often. I am not complaining, and I'm excited that I will be getting my new car next Tuesday!

What else.. feeling anxious. I'm praying that my mom's trip back to Tokyo next Tuesday morning will be smooth.

Yay, tomorrow is Friday!

So I'm still waiting for my new car. I called on monday and was told that it has cleared customs and now is on a train coming to Toronto which will take about 2 weeks. I'm hoping that I will be getting it next Saturday monring! It would work out great coz I have next Friday off, and I can get the bank draft made then.

I've sold my current car, and I'm handing it over to the buyer this Saturday, so for this weekend I won't have a car. Next week, I'll get to drive my mom's car to work and hopefully only for the week.

Anyway, not much is going on. I survived the busiest time at work, and now I can take a breath. :)

It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining, nice breeze. I drove up Bayview after church with my windows down and Lincoln Brewster blasting on my CD player. As I drove near the "ramp" to get on Hwy 7, an older model Mercedes cut in front of me (quite closely since there was only 1 car space between the car that was in front of me and my car before this mercedes cut in). I didn't mind that. Then I smell cigarette smoke and I realize the driver of the mercedes is smoking. For some reason, that just completely ruined my good mood. Cigarette smoke just stinks so bad, even when you are far away from the smoker, you can still smell it. I had to endure that for a few more minutes since the light changed to red and I am stuck behind this mercedes for a bit.
The light changed back to green, I turned on to the ramp, and kept left. The Mercedes went to the right lane and went West on 7. The stinky cigarette smoke still lingers a bit in my car. I blasted Lincoln Brewster a bit louder and the nice breeze finally clears the are of the stinky smoke. :)
So my thought is that although I respect that smokers have their rights to smoke, I also wish they remember that when they smoke, the smoke that comes out also affects other people that don't like to smell their smoke. Non-smokers also have rights not to smell the smoker's smoke! That's my beef.

So I haven't been very dilligent in posting. Mostly because there is not much going on to post about. Plus the past few weeks at work has been pretty crazy. It's quiet down for a bit now so I can breathe until the next wave of busyness arrives.

Quick update, last Sat I put down a deposit on a new car! The colour I wanted wasn't available so it had to be ordered. I'll be getting it in 3 to 4 weeks!

unsweetened?

Last Saturday, I went to Starbucks and asked for a non-fat black tea latte. The girl asked if I wanted it unsweetened as well, and I said sure. I didn't ask for unsweetened originally because I thought the tea lattes were made from syrup, so I didn't think I would be able to get it unsweetened. I thought it was cool that I could get the black tea latte unsweetened. Just now I went to Starbucks again (the same one that I went to last Saturday), and asked for a non-fat unsweetened Chai Tea Latte. The girl said "Unsweetened??", she looked at me as if I came from another planet. Then she said the tea lattes are made from syrup and you can't get it unsweetened otherwise you'll be just getting milk and water without the syrup. I told her last week I asked for the non-fat black tea latte, and was asked whether I wanted it unsweetened as well. I didn't asked for it last time. Anyway, she basically thought it was very weird and questioned if I was at the same Starbucks last time.. To make a long story short, I felt kinda stupid now asking for unsweetened Chai Tea Latte, and now I have a non-fat not unsweetened Chai Tea Latte.

My question is, why was I able to get an unsweetened black tea latte, but not an unsweetened chai tea latte. And in fact, if I have asked for an unsweetened black tea latte this time, would I be able to get it?

Wow, it's been more than a week since I last blogged. Work has just been really crazy, but it's getting less crazy now. The Victoria Day long weekend is this weekend, so I can sleep in on Monday!

I only worked out once this week, hopefully, in 2 weeks I can get back to working out 3 times a week.

My new favourite drink is the Black Tea Latte at Starbucks. Now that I'm on a diet, I am going for non-fat unsweetened (I add Splenda after). :)

I don't think I've ever been so tired that I can't speak loudly. When I got home just now, I feel so tired and I have to talk loudly to my mom or else she can't hear me, and I can't raise my voice!! This is a first for me. I think I've been physically more tired than I am right now, but I've never had a problem with talking out louder.

Yesterday, a couple things happened. The first one not so weird, the second kinda weird, and combined together, quite weird!

I went to Hillcrest Mall's Lens Crafters after work yesterday to pick up my sunglasses. (My old pair were crushed by a car at my work's parking lot.) I had entered the mall through the Bay. As I was walking through the Bay to get to the mall, I hear someone called miss and caught someone waving at me at the corner of my eye. I stopped and looked, and this young guy came walking up to me, asking if I had any change. I thought he needed to breakdown a dollar or something, then I realized he just want some change from me. He didn't have enough money to take the bus home, and needed $0.75 more. So I gave him 3 quarters, no big deal.

After I picked up my sunglasses. I went out through the Bay again. Going out the door, I saw this Chinese woman talking on the cell phone. I proceed to walk towards my car, and someone called miss again. I looked over, and the Chinese woman who was talking on the cell phone asked if I understood Cantonese. So I said yes. She asked if I could give her a ride to Yonge and Major MacKenzie to a car dealership. I told her no because it is the opposite direction of where I'm heading, which is true. She then says, oh, I thought.. and stopped, and says something about the car dealership again. At this point I think it is very weird. First of all, even if I am heading the same way, I would never give a stranger a ride anywhere, even if they person is a woman and looks perfectly harmless. It is just not a good idea to give a stranger a ride. If I was with 3 other people, then may be I would consider that. But being alone, I would never do that. Secondly, she could have called a cab to get there, or get the dealership to send a shuttle to pick her up, or even hop on a bus. It is just right up Yonge. So I'm not sure why she is asking another stranger to drive her there. She has no idea where I'm going... Thirdly, why would she ask a stranger anyway? What if I'm a psycho??? It is just very weird. Unless she thinks she knows me. But I've never seen her in my life. :)

Okey, so like I said, the first incident wasn't so weird, because I've had people approach me asking for money. The second one was much weirder. But to have two incidents happening to me at the same place almost right after one another is very weird. I almost thought I was on Candid Camera or something, to see how people react to requests from strangers.

Anyway, today I tried the Stability Workout at work. It is probably the hardest one of the 3 I've tried. But it was good. Kick boxing tomorrow again! Looking forward to that.

We went from Spring back to Winter and now it feels like Summer, all within a couple weeks' time. :) This weekend is supposed to be very mild, up to 22c!

I made it through the work week, just tiring from driving downtown and back 2 days in a row. The rest of the week is not too bad. I've also started to work out again since there are free fitness classes at work. There is no excuse for me not to go! I took Cardio Pump on Monday and Kick Boxing on Thursday. Next week, I'm going to add Stability Ball to the two. It will be hard to go to all the classes every week because of meetings, but I will go to as many as I can. Lastly, I'm on a 30 day diet and plans to continue to do this when the 30 days are over (may be with a couple weeks of break in between). The diet is a program offered by this company called Nutrition In Motion, and they deliver meals based on the South Beach Diet. The meals are freshly cooked as opposed to frozen or dry food. They deliver the food to my doorstep every other day. I've gone through almost a week of eating their meals and snacks, and so far I've survived. I hope I can carry on doing this as well.

So it's been kind of a week of new beginnings for me!

Last night I was doing some work on Microsoft Word, and I really want to throw my computer out the window. It's a very annoying program to use. I prefer working with Excel any day to Word. Powerpoint can get annoying too.

On a sad note, I received a speeding ticket on the way home from work today, and to add insult to the injury, I didn't have my insurance card on me and got another ticket for that. :( I guess the bright side, for the cop is he got 2 tickets to fill his quota for the month.

I had another unpleasant experience with Purolator. This lady called my cell phone and asked for my sister. I told her she's not in Canada. Then she said we have a package for her. So I said, oh, is it from xxx? And she said yeah. And I said, ok, where are they. And she said creditstone... I said what's your company I mean. She said, Purolator. I said ok you didn't tell me earlier. Then I asked for the exact address, so I can pick it up. She said you need a letter from your sister allowing you to pick it up. I said, even if I have a driver's licence saying that I lived at the address the package is shipped to?? I told her that the package was ordered by my sister, but it was meant to ship to me. I told her that I'm assuming that you are calling because you made a delivery attempt, and no one was home. She said yeah, and then she said she had to ask someone whether I can pick up the package without a letter. After holding for a couple times, she came back and said yes, I can pick up the package with my driver's licence and a piece of mail proving that I lived there. I'm rolling my eyes at this point. Then I asked for the tracking number. And she said, do you have the tracking number? Right after I asked her for the tracking number. I said no, I didn't get a notice from Purolator that they attempted delivery. Then she gave me the tracking number. Anyway, I got a bit frustrated, because she really didn't know what she's talking about, and just wasn't very professional. And again, Purolator did not leave a notice on my door saying that they were here. If they hadn't call, I wouldn't know that a package was waiting for me.
I again reiterate how much I enjoy UPS service, and how bad Purolator is. I don't think I've had a good experience with them yet.

Today is the last day in March, and just like that, one quarter of 2007 is over. I had planned to clean up the house today because my parents are coming next week. My mom would freak if she arrives today. All I've been doing is sorting through the mail that was piling up on my dining table. Mostly bank statements for my mom and dad and myself, and other junky but not really junk mail stuff. I think if I only had my own mail to worry about, it wouldn't be too bad.

I'm getting so bored of sorting through all the stuff. I'm really not good at tidying and cleaning up the house. I don't mind cooking, but cleaning is not my most favourite thing to do.

I should be sleeping right now, but I'm just feeling a bit sad. I think sometimes I don't want to go to sleep because I'm sad.

Nothing major really, just the ripples from something that happened a couple weeks ago are starting to show up now. It's nor a big thing, just need to deal with it.

Sometimes I wonder how different life would be if I have taken the other path each time I come upon a crossroad.

Restaurant Makeover has become another show that I like to watch. I don't watch it regularly, but if it happens to be on when I go to Food Network, I almost always tend to finish watching it. :)

So the weekend is drawing to an end. This weekend again flew by very quickly. I was going to do some work this evening, but changed my mind. Weekend is for rest. :)

sign of stress?

This morning, when my alarm went off at 7 am, I thought for a moment that it was Friday and had to go to work. Then I remembered that it is Saturday, yesterday was Friday. :) This is the first time ever that I had woken up on a Saturday morning and thought that it was a weekday.

Anyway, the reason I got up early today was to attend a breakfast/mission seminar. The speaker spoke about Mission at the Marketplace. It was very good. He emphasized that God can use us in whatever we do and where we work.

In the afternoon, I went and got my hair done. This time I got a perm (just a body wave) and my hair coloured. I'm slowly getting some white hair now. It is said, but I have to face that I am older. :)

That has pretty much been my day. It was suppose to be warmer today, but I think because of the rain, it doesn't feel as warm as it should. I don't mind the rain so much though, I'm hoping the rain will wash away some of the gravel and yucky diry slush.
